The Way of Knowing God.

1 Corinthians 2:9-16 reads;

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Traditionally religion teaches that verse 9 applies to what awaits believers in the life beyond. Orr even worse...taken completely out of context and applied to material blessings God desires to bless us with upon this earth. This interpretation is the work of the mind of denominated seminarian trained men, not the mind of God's ordained Teacher...His Spirit. This man interpreted teaching seriously limits and promotes a “we will understand it better by and by in the hereafter” mentality, and on the other hand, focuses on the things of the world.

The passage assures us that “God has revealed [past tense] them to us through His Spirit.” However the flow of thought does not stop there. “For the Spirit searches [present tense] all things, even the depths of God.” God designed that spiritual things not be taught by denominated doctrinally trained because the finite mind of man cannot comprehend the ways and thing of God. But, it is His Spirit that teaches us the depth of the richness of His wisdom and knowledge concerning all spiritual things which to the finite mind of man are past finding out (Romans 11:23).

What is beyond our knowing with our natural knower can be known through our spiritual knower (our spirit) in tune with God's Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the teacher of truth that God has given to His people and is the only means by which spiritual revelation can be trusted as authentic. The denominated theologians and preachers that people seek out for spiritual insight, more often than not, are influenced by man induced insight that is added to the original revelation receive by the Spirit thus, polluting the revelation of God. “It is the Spirit that gives witness because the Spirit us truth” (1 John 5-6). “If a man thinks he knows anything he knows knows nothing yet as he ought to know” (1 Cor. 8:2).

Herein lies the admonition not to trust the teachings of people influenced by denominated doctrines that are man-made and man-ordained because they are not pure nor are they Spirit taught...or if they were initially Spirit taught they have added man's ideas to it and polluted its purity.

The Spirit continuously searches (present tense) spiritual things and is available to teach it to believers, instead believers sit at the feet of the religious spiritual icons and drink from a polluted well of deception and bypass drinking from the pure well of the Spirit.

This is the great need in the Community of the Redeemed today! Do we know...are we experiencing this great searching of the Spirit of Truth? Is the Spirit Teacher free to enrich us with spiritual truth or ave we closed of the faucet by our dependence on the religious elite?

“Who knows the spirit of a man, except the spirit of man which is in Him?” “Likewise NO ONE knows the Spirit of God except the Spirit of God.”

This is paramount to understand. You cannot learn the depth of spiritual things in denominated seminaries, bible schools or being a member of some denomination. Men cannot teach the wisdom and knowledge of God for they abide in the Spirit who alone searches all things and imparts the reality of them to whom He wills.

Tell me...if we were taught by the Spirit and moved and had our being in the Spirit, would the myriad of segregated denominations that exist with their different doctrines, all claiming to be founded on the truth of God?

 I think not!

  1. I always taught you were a bit cultish now I know when I see you quoting from doctrines and covenants 8:3 the revelation given to Joseph Smith the prophet of Mormon church.

    Well enough said about that.

You end by saying and I quote: Tell me...if we were taught by the Spirit and moved and had our being in the Spirit, would the myriad of segregated denominations that exist with their different doctrines, all claiming to be founded on the truth of God?

    I think not!

The problem is not that there are so many denominations. Even before there were any denominations there were Christians teaching all kinds of strange things and saying they received it from Holy Spirit. Even in early church some were teaching a lot of false stuff so much that Paul had to send them letters and correct it.

However there was one group of Christians that Paul praised a lot and that was the Bereans. Paul was glad that they didn`t believe everything that he said just because he said that it was from Holy Spirit.
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.(Acts 17:11)

Even today among those who have left organized religion, if you would read their books you will find that there are a myraid of beliefs among them. Just one example one grace teacher teaches in his book that eventually everyone will be saved while another such as Andrew Womach says that universalism is hersey.

    1. For those who may read Hubert's comment and and his judging me as cultish...something that he not recently taught but ALWAYS taught it. Now I confess, I had no clue what He was referring to for I am not familiar with writing, so I looked it up, now let me quote the verse that He said I quoted above. It reads in Covenants 8:3 this; Now, behold, this is the spirit of revelation; behold, this is the spirit by which Moses brought the children of Israel through the Red Sea on dry ground.

Now I ask you as readers, Is such a quote in my post? Or is Hubert reacting in his usual judgmental delusional manner from His superiority spiritual position because in His words He "Knows the Bible" therefore, it is His right to set every one right to the way He understands it...I ask you which is more cultish?

    3. That is the source I went to, to affirm your accusations, but what as that to do with my post...are you so disillusional that you can tie my post to that writing. Rather than searching your cultish material, why not search the Bible verses referred to.

    1. Here is what Verse 2 says: 2 Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart. Again where did I quote it above. Hubert the more you write the deeper you are revealing your ignorance and delusion, and the more you reveal the ALWAYNESS of the delusion that you know I am cultish!

    2. I get it now, you are referring to the picture. Are you saying that you do not believe that the Holy Ghost does not come upon you nor dwells in you. Do you want me to quote the Bible which you claim to know so well to substantiate it.

    3. As you have often said...even the cults have some truth that can be substantiated by the Bible.
