Many people give Lip Service to The Lord:

“Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46).

Many people give Lip Service to The Lord:

Shouting praises...In Sunday-go-meetings.
Teaching doctrine...Most of which are the ideas of men.
Preaching sermons...A monologue of verbiage of which most of the mouthing is fruitless.
Using christian clichés, "When God closes one door He opens another", "God helps those who help themselves" If you just had enough faith you would be healed" "the bible says it, I believe it, that settles it"..."Repent or burn"..."If you are not serving God you are serving the devil".

Singing:

"All to Jesus I Surrender"...At least 10% of the time.
"Following Jesus every Day by Day"...At least on Sunday's.
"God is good"...As long as things are going my way.
"I love you Lord"...Whats left over after loving my church.
"Take my Life and Let it Be Fully Concentrated unto Thee"...At least what life is left over after serving religion.
"Your my Lord"...After my denomination.

Some people do life service for The Lord:

Teaching in seminaries...Founded by man for teaching denominational distinctions.
Clergy Hood...Absent from the bible, designed my man to influence and control the less spiritual pew warmer.
Raising money for religious causes...Fleecing the flock by promising spiritual blessings, or fear mongering with the threat of curses if people don't give.
Traveling healing evangelists...Manipulators building kingdoms unto themselves.
Standing for "christian causes"...Not God causes

Jesus is not impressed by lip-service or even life service that is not lived out of love for God. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter” (Matt 7:21).

Lip-service and life-service may impress the religious hierarchy but that doesn't mean it impresses God.

God desires total giving of our lives to Him, evidenced by the life of Jesus in us and working through us to influence those around us by our loving them to Jesus. People need to see Jesus in us as we work with Him because of our love for Him.

Why do we do what we do? Do we do it for religious or personal reasons, or out of a love for God?

The will of God is not to do to be...don't let your doing speak so loud that it hides your being...Let your being in Christ be your reason for doing your doing, with Christ.
