Is Grace really a Licence to Sin?

It is almost an unexplainable wonder how religious people of religions who claim to be the guardians of the truth, are so proficient at holding the greatest news known to mankind at bay. Believers are responsible for the best news of all good news, but in releasing this good news somehow, we have managed to confuse and diffuse its truth. God redeemed us to give this good news to people and them we frustrate and confuse its message by hiding it behind a wall of rules, regulations and laws.

We hear from the pulpits of the land by the puppets of denominations; “You must not take grace too far or you will turn it into license to sin!” as though lack of license has ever stopped anybody from sinning even us religious people. Hasn’t anyone noticed, are we that dumb? We all sin, for mercy sake, even all of us who may be dressed in religious robes of self-righteous purity and who claim to be God-fearing, Sunday-go-meeting  Christians. Always have been, always will be, in this life.

It is only by God’s pure and unfettered grace, as demonstrated once and for all through Jesus Christ, that we are made something else...righteous...and not by avoiding sin, but by trusting Him who graciously graces us with His righteousness. Religion by its vigilant efforts to prevent anyone from “turning grace into license to sin” has resulted, ironically, in our managing to turn sin into a barrier to accepting grace.

The gospel  of Grace is is bull-dosed under by the relentless muck of denominational “rightness,” doctrinal “exactness” and behavioral “standards.” religion against religion, warring over phraseology, terminology, dress codes, political stands, seating arrangements, music styles, architecture…the list seems endless. Religion promises grace, then delivers condemnation. Religion headlines the gospel, then preaches damnation. Religion baits its moralistic hook with gospel bait, reels in the unwary catch and plops him or her into the hot greasy frying pan of salvation by works as it propagates the "our-way-is-God's-way" virus that causes infectious rejection to the Grace message of Jesus Christ.
