Performance Based Christianity.

Religion has people believing that performance based Christianity is the way to God and that living authentic Christianity is understood to be how church life is practiced today. Plus, the entertainment for the audience and the applause for the performers is exhilarating and addictive. People do not have to move out of their comfort zone to experience the daily grind as to where and how people live life. Their lives are orderly, and they are firmly convinced that they are deriving real satisfaction from their christian lives, and are pleasing God. They believe that they are engaged in genuine and sincere biblical righteousness. This is exactly how the Pharisees felt.

But Jesus Christ, an ex-carpenter, a nobody as far as they were concerned, stands up and declares that they are wrong deluded, insecure, and blind leaders of the blind.

The Abusive Tool of Fear-Mongering.

  Fear mongering is an abusive tool used by religion which cripples and limits one's spiritual growth to mature to the full stature of Christ. The fear mongering propaganda that is used as a means to get people saved speaks volumes about the quality of love used to try and scare people to become Christ followers. The scriptures declare that is is the “goodness of God that leads to repentance.” Another characteristic of  fear mongering believers is that they believe that natural disasters are God’s doing and are warnings or punishment for the sin of sinning people. Their sin consciousnesses has blurred their God consciousnesses to where they see God as the big bad wolf waiting to pounce on somebody for sinning. HAPPY DADS AND THE HORRORS OF HELL by Jeff Turner Jonathan Edwards once said the following words: “Reprobate infants are vipers of vengeance, which Jehovah will hold over hell, in the tongs of his wrath, till they turn and spit venom in his face!” Elsewhere, Edwards asked the question: “Can the believing father in Heaven be happy with his unbelieving children in Hell?” Now, a bit of clarification: Edwards is not referring to God when he speaks of the “believing father in Heaven”.
